What are your key distractions? Television? Social media? Gossip? Identify them and allocate less time to them each passing day.
The world is rife with distractions. In the modern age, people and things constantly vie for your attention. Everywhere you look are advertisements trying to get you to spend on something. Turn on your television or your computer and there’s a show or website promising you entertainment or much more. Even your phone, once merely used to make phone calls, can be a time-suck nowadays, what with all the apps and other options it presents.
Whatever you do – RUN AWAY FROM DISTRACTIONS. If the source of your distraction is of the human variety, politely inform the person you are busy and need to focus on something important. The ability to say ‘No’ to our friends, loved ones and strangers doesn’t come naturally to everyone. Nevertheless, this is a skill you must harness when your time is better spent on your vision.
Once you remove distractions, prioritize the ideas which solve the problems people will pay for IMMEDIATELY and not later. The “market” will pay you what your skills are worth, so if you are not earning what you feel your work deserves, it simply means you are not solving a big enough problem for someone to pay what you are worth. Or, that you need to demand more compensation for your skills and time.
